Bad Acid Magazine’s Triple Burnout Issue OUT NOW!

As well as producing page layouts for the final issue, I also illustrated the above for one of the alternate covers which would originally have been used for Tab 12 (see the miscilanious design section over at www.michael-cowell.com to see the dvd layout.  I was particularly pleased with that).  It’s sad to see Bad Acid go, it was an amazing publication, rammed full of music, video and articles.  I’m very glad to hear that Dave will be continuing his work by putting together a regular podcast.  Read on for further details.

The last ever issue of Bad Acid Magazine has hit the streets, and it is a mighty TRIPLE issue, with extra bonus material added. It is HUGE!

The Burnout Issue contains:

Quite possibly the most extensive compilation of deranged underground music ever released. A staggering 40 plus hours of audio covering over 300 bands….. featuring kraut, sludge, doom, crust, noise, spacerock, experimental, psych and drone…..

A huge colour pdf magazine filled with over 250 reviews, 26 interviews and freaked out artwork. You’ll be reading for weeks.

A 4 hour dvd with promo videos, live footage, short film and animation, plus 108 minutes of bonus mp4 material.

Label profiles with interviews, release run downs and label samplers.

ALSO

Bad Acid will continue in a new format:

BLOTTER: a regularly updated FREE podcast featuring even more underground, ugly and deranged music. Audio broadcasts will feature the latest select material to arrive at Bad Acid HQ, each around two hours long with accompanying reviews and interviews.

An motley selection of uncompromising undergroud artists too ugly to make the mainstream media.

Got the opportunity to take a look at The Art Of British Rock book by Mike Evans today.  A superbly produced piece of work and a real honor to be included in it along side the best illustrators and designers to have been associated with the British music scene in the last half century.  A massive thank you to everyone involved.
Also, it was Waterstones Leicester’s pick of the week, so thanks to them as well!
