Yesterday I received my copy of Classic Rock Posters by Mick Farren and Dennis Loren. This is a fantastic book covering sixty years of poster are from the UK, USA and Europe and features my 2011 poster for Queens Of The Stone Age. It’s always an honour to be included in projects like this.
A few stills from Orchid by Isabella Brunäcker, starring Johannes Huber and Sabrina Stockner, which uses my poster from the Loud Howls festival back in 2009. You can see Karl Keelaghan’s logo in it really nicely here as well.
A fantastic and subtle short film. Well worth a look if you get the opportunity.
Video from the poster show at the Summertyne Americana music festival which is on at The Sage in Gateshead until Sunday.
A massive thank you to Nick Rhodes for co-curating the exhibition with me and to Mara Piccone for coming over from Holland to keep me company!
The tee shirts being printed live at the Screenadelica poster show in Liverpool this weekend by In The Room.
Designers from left to right are Army of Cats, myself, Horse Design and Luke Drozd.
The event is on right now until midnight Saturday with live bands, screen printing, booze and poster art. Come down if you’re in the area!
The Queens Of The Stone Age show in Zurich is tonight, good luck, fellas!
These will be on sale from my Big Cartel store from tomorrow morning. (Thursday)
The finished Queens Of The Stone Age poster. Three colour screen print (White, Orange/Blue split, Black) 59.5 x 42 Edition of 40. These will be available from the show in Zurich next Wednesday and from my web store from Thursday morning.
In other news, the Poster Roast at the Camden Crawl went brilliantly this weekend. I’ll repost photos as they appear, as usual all mine are terrible.
Also, I’ll be getting about quite a bit this coming month so here’s a list of places you will find me:
Screenadelica in Liverpool from the 19th to 21st of May, I will be there in person so if you’re in the area, please stop by and say hello.
The whole QOTSA poster series will be exhibited at Rise Records' exhibition space in Bristol from the 27th of May
Then, That same weekend if you’re lucky enough to be out in Barcelona for Primavera Sound be sure to drop by and check out the API presents Screenadelica at Primavera poster show. Gary from Horse Design is the man behind the Screenadelica branding and his work at the moment pushing the UK gig poster scene couldn’t be more appreciated. I can’t thank him enough for all his amazing work.
Then, June will be starting with a show curated by Sixtybones in Aurora, Illonois on the third. Unfortunately I won’t be getting out for that one either. It’s a very long walk.
I’ll be updating here with details as they appear so be sure to drop back every now and then.
Just packaging up some more Kyuss posters. Thanks to everyone who’s bought one so far! If you still want one, drop into my web store, they’re selling pretty well!
A few process pics of the original drawing I’m doing for the Japanese Fund raising Event postcard auction at Spanky Van Dykes in Nottingham this Saturday. I’ll be there from about 10pm with any luck.
In other news, the Kyuss Lives! show at Rock City is tonight so Adam Pobiak and myself will have our collaborative poster on sale from tomorrow.
The finished Crippled Black Phoenix tour poster.
These are being printed by Jacknife over in Bristol during the next few weeks. More photos will be uploaded to the process thread I’ve been running on the CBP forums (click image to link through) when I go over to sign and number them. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
